Fifteen Years of Innovation!

Explorations Academy proudly celebrated its Fifteenth Anniversary Party and Gratitude Gathering last Friday, and it was a terrific party.  We are very grateful to all of you who joined in the festivities to help honor our graduates, commemorate our history, and thank our supporters.

Held at the elegant concert hall of The Amadeus Project, this event featured foods prepared — and in some cases even grown — by students in Sarah Lane’s Gardening and Local Foods Cooking class.  Our students really did a fantastic job in preparing a nearly-all local and organic feast.  The abundant spread was bolstered in part by the Mi Casa restaurant, who provided delicious trays of Mexican food.

Several speakers briefly addressed what Explorations means to them — one student, one donor, one teacher, one Board member, and one parent.  Director Daniel Kirkpatrick also spoke briefly (demonstrating that brevity is possible even for him) and expressed appreciation for all the community support that has kept Explorations Academy growing and improving over the past fifteen years.   He went on to pledge that the school would continue to evolve and strengthen over not just the next fifteen, but at least 150, years!

All of us here at Explorations Academy are humbled by the extensive and generous community support that makes possible our work inspiring young people to be leaders for positive change.  With your help, our school is thriving and continuing to address the need for a 21st Century education.  Thank-you!
